FEBRUARY 2010
A recent CCIQ survey of the Queensland business community found more
than half of all businesses are not fully compliant with the new Fair Work Act.
The primary reason for non-compliance is widespread confusion within the
business community about what is actually required under the new legislation.

CCIQ Training has two great Courses for employers and employees to
get on top of the new laws and reduce the risk of penalties.

CCIQ - February Update on Fair Work Act
Update on the Act since introduction in January 2010

Report:  Fair Work Act & Modern Award Chaos

   ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The Fair Work Act & Modern Awards
Thank you to Members who entered the Snap Poll.
After exactly one month of the new Fair Work Act and modern award system being in
operation Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland is currently examining the
impact of on Queensland employers in order to provide feedback to Fair Work
Australia and the Federal Government.

Hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders have had dramatically altered industrial
relations
arrangements for their workplace.

CCIQ wishes to analyse what level of understanding exists and at what stage of
implementations are businesses at with the new changes with the possible view of
seeking further awareness campaigns and a moratorium on any prosecutions arising
from the new laws.
