Cr Campbell Newman
 

The Lord Mayor will speak about current issues and projects that affect our
Inner West region as well as his vision for Brisbane, Australia's most liveable city.

Elected in March 2004, Lord Mayor Campbell Newman has successfully taken the reigns of
Brisbane implementing his ideas, policies and plans to create a stronger economy with
infrastructure to match.  Take advantage of this unique opportunity to hear further about
his perspective and hear his answers to your questions.     

A civil engineer by profession, Cr Newman had a 13-year career as an Australian Army
Engineer, before moving into various private sector roles and an executive position
at leading Queensland agribusiness, Grainco Australia.

Prior to entering Council, Campbell Newman operated his own consulting firm, which
specialised in bulk commodity logistics.

Cr Newman holds an honours degree in civil engineering and a Master of Business
Administration from the University of Queensland.  

He is married to Lisa and has two daughters.

As Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman is drawing on his diverse experience to get on with the
job and plan for Brisbane's future.  

Cr Newman is committed to making Brisbane a smart thinking, easy living, world-class city. 
His top priority is to get Brisbane moving by building new road infrastructure and improving
our public transport system.
